Applying to Ashesi

Thank you for your interest in applying to Ashesi University. The admissions period for students matriculating at Ashesi in August 2008 is currently closed.

Application forms for those interested in applying for August 2009 will be available in November 2008.

Ashesi's application is fairly demanding compared to other institutions in Ghana.  We therefore advise applicants to begin the application process in November this year, as soon as application form are available.

Ashesi considers the following factors in making admissions decisions.

  • Grades in secondary school, strength of secondary school curriculum, class rank.
  • For serious consideration, one of the following is required: Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) scores of 15 or better; A-Level examination scores; International Baccalaureate (IB) examination scores; or Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) scores
  • Extra-curricular activities
  • Essays
  • Recommendations
  • Interview (by invitation only)
  • International students for whom English is a second language must demonstrate English language proficiency by submitting TOEFL examination scores.

Prospective applicants residing in Accra are strongly advised to visit our campus (see directions).  A visit to campus gives you an opportunity to speak with the faculty, staff and students of Ashesi University, and thus gives you a better sense of the Ashesi community.
