Dr. Korsah has a PhD from Carnegie Mellon and a M.Sc from Dartmouth and is the recipient of both global and African awards.

Dr. Korsah teaches computer science and robotics at Ashesi University in Ghana, where she challenges her undergraduates to create new solutions to real-world, every day African challenges.

From the $10 robot to an intelligent water-monitoring system
Dr. Korsah is the force behind diverse projects, including a collaboration between Ashesi and CMU to design an automated system for monitoring water usage on Ashesi University’s campus, and pioneering the Ashesi Robotics Experience (AR/X), which engages African high school students in STEM learning.

Dr. Korsah’s awards include the 2013 Tribeca Disruptive Innovation Award (TDIA) for her work in co-founding the African Robotics Network (AFRON), whose “$10 Robot” Design Challenge spurred participants to create extremely low cost robots to jump-start robotics education in Africa. AFRON now spans 25 countries.

Dr. Korsah also received the Ideas 2012 Award, given to Ghanaians under 40 who have invested significantly in a project or organization that enriches the lives of Ghanaians.
